One minute she was accompanying the Funkasaurus Brodus Clay to the ring and she next, there were Rear Views everywhere! We saw her on NXT Season 3 coming second to Kaitlyn and she was an obvious fan favorite but we need to ask ourselves. Who really is Naomi? Formerly hailing from Planet Funk, Naomi is one of the most athletic divas on the roster and a woman you do not want to mess with.
Naomi debuted, first, on (then developmental territory for WWE) FCW in 2009 under the name Naomi Knight, managed to become the first FCW Divas Champion and held it for a single reign totaling 189 days. Most of her time in FCW was spent as a heel and people cheered for her despite knowing this fact.
On NXT’s third season is where we saw Naomi show us that her talents weren’t just in wrestling.Naomi competed against five other girls in various contests and challenges. Throughout the entire season Naomi had six challenge wins under her belt and was able to come in second place to Kaitlyn who actually won the competition by a crowd reaction vote.
On January 9th 2012, we saw Naomi back on TV as a dancer/valet for former WWE Superstar Brodus Clay. She and Cameron became known as The Funkadactyls. On the TLC pre-show, she competed in a her first televised match (Santa’s Little Helpers Battle Royal) to become the number one contender for Eve’s Divas Championship. Naomi won the battle royal after eliminating Kaitlyn. Later on in the pay per view, Naomi would compete against Eve in a losing effort.
Total Divas was revealed in May 2013 as a part of a partnership with E!. It was announced on August 14, 2013, that E! had ordered an additional six episodes, bring the first season to a total of 14 episodes. It was revealed that Naomi would be a part of this cast.
On July 7th 2014, The Funkadactyls completely sibanded leaving the Total Divas stars to go their separate ways in singles competition.
